It’s back to the islands, mon! This October we’re heading to Dauphin Island, AL.
I’ve updated our web site with more information about our weekend, including maps and links to lodging and attractions.
Most folks will arrive Friday, Oct. 9 and return Sunday, Oct. 11, but that’s up to you.
The rides
The Saturday ride will be to Bellengrath Gardens Ride options vary from 15 to 45 miles. We’ll ride through scenic Bayou La Batre on our way to Bellengrath Gardens, which has a lot of walking trails and a river boat trip if you like.
Sunday you’ll probably want to explore Dauphin Island itself. Lots of quiet roads to ride on and lots of activities, including beaches, Audubon Bird Sanctuary, Estuarium, Fort Gaines, and more .
Lodging
Lots of choices. There is a bed and breakfast, cottage, motel, campgrounds, RV parks, and houses and condos to rent.
The Dauphin House Bed and Breakfast is newly renovated. Prices will be going up but they’re offering us the lower prices now. There are only ten rooms, sleeping two to six. This place is very popular, so reserve a room right away.
