Second Sunday Ride -- Blueberries and Wine

  • Hodge's Vineyards and Winery (map)

Adventurous cyclists,

July’s ride is picking’ blueberries and samplin' wine. We’ll carpool to Hodge's Vineyards and Winery and park the cars there. Then, ride a nice, 18-mile loop to Blueberry Havens to pick berries and return to Hodge's, where we'll sample their wines and have a picnic lunch.

The ride is all paved (mostly). We'll bring a car along to carry back our harvest and any riders who want to ride back. Remember to pack a picnic lunch. Bring family and friends to join us by bike or cars if you like.

This is a good year for blueberries. I picked some berries at Blueberry Havens today. They are delicious and plentiful.

We'll leave at 8:00 AM to beat some of the July heat.

Date: Sunday, July 8.
Time: Leave Auburn Jr. High School at 8:00 AM, arriving at Hodges Vineyards and Winery a half-hour later.
Road Conditions: Mostly paved, any bikes/tires will do.
Bring: Hat. Water. Insect repellent. Water. Walkin' shoes. Water. Treasure to pay for your harvest ($10/gallon) and any wine you might buy. Bring a picnic lunch. Water.

See you Sunday, July 8,
