This ride is being put on in an effort to raise money for restoration cost to the mill. Flooding from the Talladega Creek caused some structural damage a cple years ago and has rendered the mill unsafe for visitors to actually enter the building and learn how meal was produced back in the day. Our goal is to raise enough money to pay for the structural repair and allow the mill to re-open the building for tourist as well as to start grinding meal again.
We have 2 great routes of 33 and 68 miles of great riding through Talladega, Shelby and St Clair counties, then return to the mill for some smoked pulled pork, smoked chicken, homemade sides consisting of deviled eggs, green beans, garlic bread, cole slaw and desserts, along with drinks.
Total cost is 25.00 per rider, of which 12.50 will go directly to the mill. The entry fees are tax deductible and will help us keep one of the oldest historical features in Talladega open for years to come!
