Stone Mountain Trail is a continuous, 19-mile stretch of car-free paths and on-street bike lanes connecting Midtown Atlanta to Stone Mountain Park. We will park cars at Your Dekalb Farmers Market, start riding the Trail near the mid-point and ride about 10 miles east to Stone Mountain Park, ride five miles around the base of the mountain, and then back to the start. About 25 miles in all.
The Trail was built by the PATH Foundation. They are also responsible for the Silver Comet Trail and a number of other off road trails in Georgia.
Date: Sunday, November 8, 2015
Time: Meet at 8:00 AM at Auburn High School to carpool to the start, or at Your Dekalb Farmers Market at 11:00 AM Georgia Time.
Road Conditions: All paved. The Stone Mountain Trail is mostly flat. The five miles around the mountain has a couple of short, steep hills, otherwise pleasant.
Bring: Water. Snacks. Treasure for lunch and shopping.
We may want to have lunch in the Park or nearby in the town of Stone Mountain. The Park includes nature trails, the Summit Skyride (cable car to the top), exhibits, and more. You can hike, but not bike, to the mountain top.

And remember, Sunday, November 15 is the annual Callaway Gardens Fantasy in Lights Bicycle Night. No cars, just bikes. Register on-line here.
See you in November,
